Thoracic outlet syndrome is a group of disorders that occur when the nerves and/or blood vessels in the thoracic outlet, which is the space between the collarbone and first rib, become compressed. Symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome may include pain in the neck and shoulders, numbness in the fingers, and weakness in the arms or hands. Treatment may include physical therapy, medications, and in some cases, surgery.
